His decision to redshirt his son looks worse by the day. Instead of having an extra guard in the wings who most likely would have seen some action last year, we now have two guards who have seen the floor with a bevy of inexperience.
242 out of 274 threes by players who are no longer on the roster. That is a staggering statistic. Like the article said, we won close games because we shot our way out of jams. Our rebounding numbers were poor and our defense questionable...all against sub par opponents.
Les gambled with last year and won, unfortunately he left the cupboard bare for next year. The Hawkins Honeymoon is over.

We got a ton of recognition, created some excitement for Aggie BB fans, won the BW title, and came close to the Big Dance. Hopefully, that has paid off in the quality of the new players that we have signed. I also like the fact the Les surrounded Corey with the best players he could put on the roster. I think Corey deserved that and all the players had a very special season as a result.

I agree with aggie6thman that there should be no excuses from Les if this team struggles mightily, but last year, we went 14-2 in conference in one of the BW's best years in memory. Even the great teams have rebuilding years. e.g.:Kentucky in 2013 didn't make the tournament after winning the championship in 2012North Carolina in 2010 didn't make the tournament after winning the championship in 2009Obviously we're not even remotely close to that caliber, but my point is even the greats have down years. We're losing 4 seniors including potentially an NBA player. Let's have reasonable expectations. I would be disappointed if we had a sub-.500 season, but I don't expect Les to bring back another BW championship.

I see him going the same route as Julian Welch. Leave UCD, go to a JC for one year and then transfer to a big time school.

Is this something that applies only to the service academies? It looks like they start with a larger group at the prep academy, and then accept a smaller subset the next year. It seems like an unfair advantage. Our press release listed him as 6'3", and team roster says Siler Schneider.http://norcalbasketball.blogspot.com/2015/02/so-what-is-uc-davis-getting-with-joe.html
